I am a visual artist who uses photography to explore and express ideas and passions of self. These passions have evolved from personal experiences to cultural phenomena. I am interested in the playful aspects of photography and enjoy fashioning juxtapositions that highlight these various topics I explore. These collocations in my work are targeted toward facilitating a dialogue about the subject as I believe often the first step in addressing a problem is acknowledging its existence and giving the viewers a chance to have their own reflection.

In constructing an image, I look for compositions that I encounter naturally or come to create myself, either in the studio or in a scouted location. When it comes to creating an artificial composition, I like to oversee the whole process and will organize everything from art direction to photographing. This control comes from a desire to create an atmosphere that transports the viewers from the mundane, into alternate realities that I construct in my work. The subjects pictured are not intended to be displayed nor objectified, rather they invite viewers into scenic internal worlds that can challenge and inspire dialogue.
